I’m Richard — a breathworker, coach, researcher, and biohacker dedicated to helping people manage anxiety and improve wellbeing through evidence-based breathwork and somatic practices.
My path hasn’t been straightforward. I began as a fitness model, believing achievement would erase my struggles. Instead, I developed depression and binge eating. That frustration drove me to study psychology and the science of healing more deeply.
I hold a PhD, where I conducted the largest randomized controlled trial to date on Conscious Connected Breathwork and anxiety. My research is now under peer review in the Journal of Affective Disorders. I also train new facilitators as part of the Breath Guru Teacher Training and deliver continuing education courses for psychotherapists through PESI.
Alongside research, I’ve built a community of nearly 100,000 people on Instagram, where I challenge common myths in the mental health industry and share practical tools for regulation, resilience, and nervous system health.
I live between the worlds of science and practice: designing studies, leading workshops, coaching clients, and speaking on podcasts and stages. My aim isn’t to replace therapy or medication but to expand the conversation — offering grounded, body-based tools that help people feel better in real time.
