Books
Two books in progress. Both grew out of work I've spent years doing — and the things I kept noticing that nobody seemed to be saying out loud.

Book 1
Cut Off — understanding family estrangement
Working title
Family estrangement has become quietly common, and almost nobody understands why it actually happens. Cut Off is a clear-eyed look at the patterns underneath it — the dynamics, the misunderstandings, the cultural shifts — written for the people most often left in the dark: parents on the receiving end, family members on either side who want to understand, and the practitioners trying to help them.
It doesn't take sides. It doesn't promise reconciliation. It explains what's actually going on — so that whatever you decide to do next, you're doing it with your eyes open.
Book 2
The Anxiety Industry
We didn't get more anxious. We got worse at handling ordinary distress.
The Anxiety Industry is a cultural argument about what happens when discomfort, uncertainty, and the normal weather of being alive get re-labelled as symptoms — and then sold back to us as conditions to be managed. It's about the deskilling: the slow loss of the everyday resilience human beings used to take for granted, and what it would look like to get it back.
